Max Plank School of Photonics - PhD program.

Dear Colleagues and Students,
this is for informing you about the recent establishment of the Max Planck School of Photonics (https://www.maxplanckschools.de/en/photonics ).
The Max Planck Schools are a joint research initiative between German universities and German research organisations. In particular, the Max Planck School of Photonics offers a novel PhD program for outstanding students who want to qualify for a career ranging from fundamental oriented up to applied photonic research. During a two year qualifying study phase at one of three teaching universities in Erlangen, Jena, or Karlsruhe, our participants benefit from a curriculum covering a broad range of photonic fundamentals but also specific subjects of late-breaking science. With the Master’s degree, the door to the PhD phase opens and students begin with their active research within the extended network of our Fellows in Aachen, Göttingen, Hamburg and Munich.

The application phase has started and ends on December 15.
Students with a background in physics, electronic engineering or other photonics related fields can apply either for the qualification phase (Master studies) or the PhD research phase.
The program has exceptional scholarships to offer.

More information you can find in the attached documents. The application takes place via that webpage:  https://www.maxplanckschools.de/23572/application

With my best regards,
Carsten Rockstuhl
