Apply for the AIM Photonics Academy2018 Internship Matching Program

The AIM Photonics Academy's 2018 Internship Matching Program is now open. With one application, students will be able to apply for full-time summer internships with one of the participating companies in the AIM Photonics community. Companies will be able to directly access a pool of highly motivated and talented students and potential employees in the field integrated photonics manufacturing. The IEEE Photonics Society is a proud association partner of AIM Photonics and its mission. 

AIM Photonics Academy is the educational initiative of the AIM Photonics Institute, an United States Advanced Institute for Manufacturing. Companies will offer travel expenses, as well as a stipend and a clearly defined work project for the interns. The duration and start and end dates may vary depending upon the project and company.

Requirements: 
Please note that currently only community college, undergraduate and graduate students who are U.S. citizens are eligible to apply for the 2018 AIM Academy Internship Matching Program. Students must have at least a 3.4/4.0 or 4.25/5.0 average in an accredited college program to apply. Below is the list of the skills and education levels that are most in demand for 2018 industry interns in integrated photonics manufacturing field.
  • Silicon photonics design and testing – graduate and undergraduate students
  • Data science, sensors – graduate students
  • Photonics, optics, packaging – all levels
  • Robotic assembly, fiber optics – graduate and undergraduate students
In order to be considered for an internship, students must submit and complete an application along with a brief cover letter (200-300 words) and resume as one document. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
