SiLC is looking for a
photonics test engineer to be a part of a dynamic and experienced team focused
on building a revolutionary 4D sensing solution.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Maintain test
equipment, processes, and procedures for the characterization of photonic
integrated circuits (PIC), optoelectronic devices, and LIDAR systems.
·
Coordinate with
management and engineers to perform PIC evaluation and testing.
·
Write, modify,
and maintain MATLAB/Python/LabVIEW code for PIC testing and data analysis.
·
Support with
data analysis, organization of measured data, and maintain component library
database from various photonics devices.
·
Specify and
purchase lab equipment and materials required for testing.
·
Support the PIC
design team with layout and scripting
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
·
Bachelor’s
Degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics, or a
related field.
·
Familiarity
with photonics components, fiber optics, free-space optics, and standard test
electronic equipment.
·
Working
knowledge of C/C++, Matlab, Python, or a similar language and interested in
learning scripting layout
·
Prior internship
or university research experience in the photonics-related field.
·
Aptitude for
performing hands-on laboratory experiments and measurements.
·
Ability to
adapt and operate under tight deadlines.
·
Strong
communication and interpersonal skills and willingness to learn new things.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
·
Strong hands-on
experience on free-space, fiber optics, and optical alignment to
fiber/waveguide devices.
