Responsible for all Fabrication
initiatives, including: production, engineering, process control, process
development, tooling design, cost reduction, and quality improvement

Manage all department manufacturing
operations within two fabrication departments

Manage the supervisors and the engineering

plans

Requirements:

ELECTRO-OPTICAL/MEASUREMENTS
ENGINEER

- Develop new metrology techniques
- Develop fabrication processes for new products; Make
improvements to processes for existing products
- Develop a thorough understanding of the cutting,
shaping, grinding, and polishing processes for current all new materials
- Develop a thorough understanding of the current
metrology techniques at SYNOPTICS as well as creating new measurement
techniques (customer required or for in-house characterization)
- Transitioning new metrology techniques to a
manufacturing environment
- Create written documentation for new processes and
process improvements, for both fabrication and metrology
- Participate in developing new business opportunities

in team projects developing process improvement methods, solutions, and
procedures to enhance quality, cost, and scheduling
- Provide technical training for manufacturing employees,

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Physics or Optics
is required; a related engineering degree will be considered

1-3 years of industry experience is
preferred, which would include having knowledge of lasers, spectroscopy,
optical fabrication and/or optical testing
·
Thorough understanding of the
fabrication processes of cutting, shaping, grinding, and polishing
·
Ability to work in a team environment
working closely with engineers, technicians, operators, and management across
various disciplines
·
Strong communication skills, both
written and verbal
·
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required
·
Knowledge of hardware/software
interfacing (e.g. Labview) is a plus

maintain client/server applications and other components using Microsoft C#.NET
(Visual Studio 2012 or higher), and SQL Server 2008 (or higher) stored
procedures, primarily to support manufacturing, accounting, and sales processes

Develop, test, and
maintain complex TSQL stored procedures that contain product flow, scheduling,
and other business control logic
·
Actively participate
in cross-functional project teams, interfacing with manufacturing, office,
technical, and managerial staff to gather and refine functional requirements
and specifications; draw upon knowledge and experience to advise team members
on the information technology aspects of projects; recommend alternative
methods that will reduce complexity, promote standardization, and improve
efficiency of applications and supported processes

Requirements:

5+ years of experience developing

Strong TSQL coding skills are a must
·
Must have experience integrating new
applications, and existing application enhancements, into an overall system
framework to ensure scalability and extensibility

Preferences:

Experience interfacing to ERP and CRM

Perform troubleshooting and repairs of fabrication machinery and
equipment controls

Service and repair precision machinery including PLC or DCS

cause events and areas for improvement

Conduct routine or special inspections to determine maintenance
activities to prevent breakdowns of facility equipment and discrete machinery

Requirements:

degree with a minimum of three years of experience is preferred

Possess basic electrical skills including motor control,
electrical distribution, and machinery installation
·
Possess basic mechanical skills repairing and maintaining

·
Ability to use a ladder, work in elevated work areas, and
frequently lift up to 45 pounds
·
Experience in servicing and maintaining HVAC equipment is a plus
