Support Ongoing Career-Related Initiatives

·        Employer Engagement: I am available to work with employers who contact you and are interested in recruiting UCF students. I can help employers post jobs, set up information sessions, conduct on-campus interviews, register for career fairs, plan student site visits, etc. Please feel free to refer employers directly to me and/or provide them with this menu of recruiting events/services options at UCF.

·        Presentations: From 10-minute presentations about Career Services to 50-minute presentations on topics such as resume writing and interviewing, I am available to deliver a variety of presentations to classes. Here is an extensive list of topicsIf desired, I can also invite employers.

·        First Destination Data: This survey assesses the employment and career related outcomes of UCF graduates. The results are available to all faculty and staff via the OEAS Knowledgebase. You may view outcomes for the university, the college, and programs as well as compare your college/program to the aggregate information of other colleges/programs. To receive access to the database, please email uday.nair@ucf.edu.

I am eager to explore ways that I can collaborate with your Department in connecting your students with employers and in serving your students’ career development needs.
Please feel free to contact me with questions and I look forward to working with you this academic year.

Best,
Jessie

Photonics Lecture Series

In order that new graduate and undergraduate students may become familiar with the research program going on in CREOL, and also to learn about any opportunities for students to becoming involved in research, we are introducing a seminar series, “Introduction to Research at CREOL” in which UCF’s Optics faculty will give brief (25 minute) talks about research in their groups.

While primarily aimed at students who are looking for a research group, all students are strongly encouraged to attend.  Also first year grad students on a CREOL graduate fellowship are required to attend.

The seminars will take place every Tuesday and Friday lunchtime for the first few weeks of the fall semester, beginning Friday, August 28 at noon.

The schedule for the first two seminars is as follows:
Friday, August 28, noon – 1 PM:
Aristide Dogariu - Photonics Diagnostic of Random Media
Eric Van Stryland – Nonlinear Optical Materials Characterization

Tuesday, September 1, noon – 1PM:
Pieter Kik - Nanophotonics and Near-field Optics
S.T. Wu – Liquid Crystal Displays

Subsequent talks in the series will be announced soon.
